AMPA: “Theater people are cool”

The AMPA program is more than just a “club,” says AMPA theater arts teacher Ms. Miller.  It is somewhere where you can be confident in what you like and comfortable within yourself.

Ms.Miller shared how she teaches more than “just students,” she teaches “actors.”

Kimberly Escobar, a freshman in AMPA, said Ms.Miller is her favorite teacher due to the fact that “Ms. Miller brings out the creativity in everyone.”

Kimberly says she genuinely enjoys her time in the theater. “AMPA builds my endurance in my performances,” she said.

Ms.Miller shares how she first-hand witnesses students facing being too busy. “Whether it be with taking AP classes or honors classes to sports and afterschool activities, time management is heavily needed,” she stated.

One of Kimberly Escobar’s concerns about the AMPA program is how the program is “organized”. She shares with us how “some AMPA students are in BIT classes when they should be placed in different classes.”

Kimberly lastly says, “Overall I enjoy being in AMPA, it brings friendships, life skills, and many experiences.”

We gladly wrapped it up on a positive note with Ms.Miller sharing that “Theater people are cool.”
