CAA freshmen gathered in the Sound Lab at the end of the day on Wednesday, eating chips and drinking Capri Suns, playing Uno, and building Jenga towers.
The Fun Fest for freshmen was produced by the CAA leadership class. Organizers said they wanted to host a fun event for them to encourage a sense of community.
“We created this event to set up a fresh beginning for new students coming in,” said Mr. Ledezma, the leadership teacher.
Student organizers said they wanted to create an event where students could collaborate and make friends with each other.
“Our goal was to provide different games for everyone to play and talk to each other with,” said CAA senior Danna Guzman, a co-organizer.
The freshmen become more familiar with other new students by playing games such as ping pong, basketball, cup pong, and more, along with sharing snacks.
Several students expressed their happiness clearly through the atmosphere of running around and making conversation.
“This was a good way for students to have a good time and hopefully feel more welcomed,” said Mr. Ledezma.
