Every Wednesday in room 108, Ms. Hurst, the AMPA Magnet Coordinator, and a couple of AMPA students give a tour to students and parents who are interested in AMPA.
“It gets the kids involved with what we do in AMPA,” said Kimberly Escobar, a junior in AMPA majoring in theater and theater tech. “It helps us get to show off and tell what our majors are and get them involved.”
Another AMPA student, Lucinda Jones, a junior in musical theater, said, “I love the people in AMPA, I think they are some of the kindest, sweetest, funniest people I’ve ever met.”
Kimberly and Lucinda both said they love doing AMPA tours for the students and parents who are interested in coming to Hamilton. They said it helps get future students involved and connected with one another.
“I love doing tours,” Lucinda said. “I love connecting with people and getting more people to come to our school.”
Ms. Hurst said visitors appreciate student tour guides, who demonstrate the energy AMPA students have while also showing them around the school campus.
“ I get over 20 students,” said Ms. Hurst, our AMPA Magnet Coordinator. “One thing that they enjoyed about the tour is having the students give them the tour. They like the energy that those students have showing all the different classes we have here.”
