OCTOBER 17, 2024—Students buzzed with excitement as the homecoming game approached. Cheerleaders practiced, the football team strategized, and students decorated the school with banners. Everyone was ready to celebrate and support the team.
ASB member Lucas Rivera said the leadership students are passionate about creating beautiful posters for the event.
“This homecoming is going to be one of the best ones in a very long time,” he said.
ASB faculty sponsor Dr Deguzman gathered ASB members Adan Magallanes and Merah Bleibel to collect snacks from her car and load them up into the cart to sell at the game.
“We also brought snacks to the events and mainly the school spirit,” ASB Co Chair of Student Affairs Ashley Garcia.
The homecoming game was a resounding success, bringing together the entire community to celebrate not just the excitement of football, but also the spirit and camaraderie of the season. The evening began with a lively atmosphere as the dance, band, and cheer teams were recognized for their hard work and dedication. Each group received personalized posters that showcased their contributions, honoring the countless hours they spent preparing for performances, cheering on the team, and engaging with peers.
Families gathered, friends reunited, and alumni returned to relive their cherished memories. The vibrant energy from the stands, filled with supporters proudly wearing neon to “neon out.” The football team, determined to make the night even more memorable, faced off against University High School at Fairfax, Hamilton’s temporary home field during construction.
From the opening kickoff, it was clear that Hamilton was ready to make a statement. The players executed their game plan with precision and tenacity, displaying not only skill but also teamwork and sportsmanship. As the game progressed, the crowd erupted in cheers with every impressive tackle and completed pass, the collective excitement amplifying with each moment of action.
By the time the final whistle blew, Hamilton had secured a decisive 14-0 victory. The players celebrated on the field, embraced by their coaches and the enthusiastic crowd. This capped off a beautiful night, one that would be remembered not just for the score, but for the unity it fostered within the school. As everyone headed home, they carried with them the joy of victory and the spirit of togetherness, looking forward to the next chapter of the season.
