The boys basketball frosh soph team has been busy preparing themselves for their upcoming season. Their first home match was in late November.
Many of the players all joined for a similar purpose, the passion of the game and to have a fun experience.
Sophomore Leonardo Miguel, who plays point guard, shared his reason for interest in the sport. “I’ve been playing basketball for half my life,” Leonardo said. “I tried soccer but that didn’t really workout I don’t know why. But basketball was my thing, especially since my older and younger brothers play it, so I just kinda grew up in a basketball family.”
Nixon Reed, a freshman who plays guard, also has a similar story.
“I decided to join because I thought high school ball would be a good opportunity to get more playing time,” he said.
The team members said they were focused on sportsmanship and their chemistry. Julian Michel, a sophomore who plays small forward, said he thought it would be a good season.
“I think as of right now, we aren’t as close with each other yet, but we hope to build a good chemistry and learn to work together as a team,” he said.
