On Saturday, November 10, the Cultural Arts Passport program (CAP) held their “Back to the Future: The Musical” field trip at the Pantages Theater. Students enjoyed the show and so did the staff, including assistant principal Ms. Monroe, a supervisor at the event.
Ms. Monroe said that she felt good about being able to give students these types of opportunities. “They are the highlight of my experience here,” she said. “I am very excited about that.”
Ms. Monroe also talked about other upcoming trips planned for the program, “The workshops that students can access [are] open to everyone.” She said she loves having the opportunity to spend time with students off campus and getting feedback from them. She said it makes the job worth it for her.
Another staff supervisor, Mr. Okun, talked about how he felt with the events provided by the CAP team.
“I enjoyed having the opportunity [to take] students to see the musical,” Mr. Okun said. “I work in special education so it was great getting to meet other students.”
Students also enjoyed the show and thought about the performance they viewed.
A freshman in the Humanities program, Max Gervirch said it was fun. She also said she thought that certain aspects of the show were interesting.
“The tech design and stage play was good,” she said.
Max said that if given another opportunity for a show by the CAP team, she would definitely go again to experience other arts events.
