Having support for everyone on campus is one thing Hamilton makes sure everyone has. There are many different counselors for different purposes. We have our own safe space called the Well-Being center, which is a place for students to go and clear their mind from their problems. Hami decided to bring Trixie, a dog who came to spend time with us on campus .
Trixie is a dog who is six years old. For half of her life, she has been going to different schools; she’s been visiting students to cheer them up and help with comforting kids.
She is very kind and well behaved. I love the fact that she was able to come and spend lunch with us! Originally, she was going to be outside on stage. Sadly, it was a rainy day, so the staff set up a room just for her.

I love the way they set up the room. They had many tables with different things to do. One table was an arts and craft table where you were able to make nice messages on cute hearts. They had markers, many different colored glitter pens, and they also had pipe cleaners to make a rose or write your valentine a love letter.
There were also toys that you were able to take, which I also thought was nice. They had stress balls, bubbles, and more. I took some pink bubbles because I thought they were very cute.
Gemma Alfaro, a senior in SAS, says, “I really enjoyed my experience of having a dog come onto campus, it really made my day. I think many students will come to school knowing Trixie is there.“
I can agree with Gemma. I really did enjoy Trixie coming to visit Hami. Having a comfort animal is really nice because it can give students a lift of spirit seeing Trixie every once in a while.
It gives students something to look forward to.
