The 2025 NBA Playoffs have been full of exciting moments, close games, and standout performances. Many passionate Hamilton students, especially athletes, are currently in tune to each game and series. From baseball players to track stars to football players, the NBA Playoffs are a great bonding experience for fans.
SAS freshman C’Nyaa Campbell said the NBA finals will be history in the making.
“Being a fan of the NBA was so great this year,” she said. “Almost every game had you out of your seat.”
In the East, the Celtics took down the Heat in the first round, while the Knicks beat the Cavaliers, up one of the biggest showdowns between Boston and New York. Now, the Knicks are in another tough series against the Indiana Pacers, with Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Haliburton leading the charge for their teams. These are historic franchises that go way back, and are arguably the best rivals.
Over in the West, the defending champs the Denver Nuggets got past the Suns and are now facing a strong Minnesota Timberwolves team led by Anthony Edwards. Another big series in the West features the Oklahoma City Thunder taking on the Timberwolves, with young stars like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander showing up big. These matchups have been physical and close, and fans are getting back the feeling of 90s hoops.
Students had different takes on who would win the series.
SAS senior Ty Mitchell predicted that the Oklahoma City Thunder would take it all.
Ty says, “I think OKC has what it takes to beat the Timberwolves. Their energy and firepower are tough to match.” He added, “Even though I have them beating the Wolves, I actually think the Pacers are going all the way and win the finals.”
AMPA senior Garrett Anderson disagreed.
“I believe the Timberwolves are the better team and should be able to beat OKC,” Garrett said. “Anthony Edwards is a beast and with Julius Randle stepping up too, I think the Timberwolves are going to make a serious run to win it all.”
