Yesterday, students and parents gathered to enjoy the B10 showcase, a performance full of singing, dancing and acting. Most of the students in the show were from the AMPA program, and they were happy to be there together.
Some students said they were nervous to perform at first. “It was scary,” said Alex Robinson, an 11th grader in AMPA. “But honestly, I just blacked out and I did it. It was really fun.”
Many of the students liked that the show was mostly run by students. “It felt a little stressful, but overall it was a good effort for the school year,” said Braiden Schwartz, an AMPA junior. “It was a little odd to do it without a teacher, but it felt nice knowing it was run by the students.”
Performing together made the experience even better for many students. “My favorite part performing in the B10 showcase was doing it with my friends,” said AMPA junior Beatrix Davidson.

Other students said they loved watching their friends perform. “My favorite part was watching all the talented people in our program,” said AMPA junior Syriah Howard “It felt really good to perform. I love to sing and dance.”
Lucinda Jones, another AMPA junior, shared her favorite moment. “It felt nice performing in the show,” she said. “I liked seeing all the parents. Shout out to my mom. I really enjoyed seeing the underclassmen perform. It made me realize how talented our musical theater program is.”
Audience members also said they were impressed by how good the show was. “I saw the B10 show, and it was very interesting,” said Khalia Wilson, a Humanities sophomore. “I saw different people sing and dance.”
AMPA junior Londyn Colbert agreed. “I wasn’t expecting them to sing like that, it was really good,” Londyn said. “The solo singers were the best, especially the ones with no music in the back, just talent.”
