Leonardo Fabian, a new AMPA junior, said that his transfer to Hamilton was unexpected and unbelievable. "I didn’t want to believe my school was burnt down, I didn’t want to move to another school, but I didn’t want to do online school. I had to transfer to Hamilton.” He says that so far, he is adjusting to Hamilton well, now that he has found his place in AMPA. “I really love it here and the classrooms, they’re chill," said Leonardo. "I like the teachers here since they’re like the ones at Pali.”

Behavioral health therapist Bex Rebecca Montes explains how being a role model for youth brings her so much joy. “Being a behavioral health therapist working with teens is creating a space for them to express themselves and share their wisdom," she says. "In therapy, each student I work with has shown a deep ability for self-reflection and a willingness to learn, offering incredible insights from which I've learned a great deal. I also enjoy the fun and joy we experience together. Young people have such a great sense of humor! I cherish the role of being a supportive adult who walks alongside them during times of change and difficulty. It's incredibly rewarding to team up with young people in their healing process, providing tools and watching them transform, showing themselves that change is possible."

Youth Educator Rahki Varma says that she decided to work in the field of public health as a youth educator because of her experience growing us as the child of a doctor. “Growing up, I heard stories of patients seeking help with their health, but often struggled to make lifestyle changes like quitting smoking, changing their diet, or exercising regularly," she says. "I realized that these decisions were influenced by factors beyond medical advice, such as peer pressure, family, the media, and access to resources. In college, I learned that public health addresses these factors and considers their impact on a person's health journey. This understanding led me to become a Youth Educator, where I help young people become their healthiest and happiest selves, integrating these holistic approaches into my work."

Youth educator Neeraj Wadhwa said he appreciates helping teens grow socially and interpersonally. "It's rewarding to see them return with a more evolved outlook and mature mindset over time, growing into capable and productive individuals," he says.

SAS freshman Mayte Hernandez appreciates the power softball gives her. "I like playing softball because I can gain physical strength," she said.

Girls’ Softball Swings Into a New Season

Humanities senior Alyssia Jones loves how softball brings her new connections. "I enjoy playing softball because I like meeting new people," she said.

BITA senior Samantha Peralta enjoys the hard work that comes with the sport. "I like playing softball because its gives me balance and discipline," she said.

Humanities junior Maya Rodriguez enjoys the new bonds she can make with her teammates. "I enjoy playing softball because it gives me the opportunity to create great friendships," she said.

Humanities sophomore Camila Garcia finds peace when playing her favorite sport. "I like playing softball because it's a great way to clear my mind," she said.

AMPA junior Marlena Gauff loves how softball brings joy to people outside and on the field. "I like playing softball because it makes me happy," she said.

CAA sophomore Kaliyah Young loves how she can play her sport and enjoy her time with her friends. "I like playing softball because of Sam M and Ramineii," she said.

SAS sophomore Samantha Ivone Garcia enjoys the challenges that she faces when playing. "Softball is a great way to learn more things about myself and others, also giving me opportunities to challenge myself," she said.

SAS junior Katelyn Hernandez Guevara enjoys how she can become stronger and bond with her teammates. "Softball allows me to bond with fellow students and get stronger," she said.

CAA sophomore Samantha Moreno loves how she passes her time with softball. "I enjoy playing softball because it's always a good time," she said.
