Clearing up Construction Confusion
The Humanities building, one of the oldest buildings on campus, will be prepped for teardown beginning this summer. "There's so much wrong with my room, my AC doesn't work, there's ants that come in, when it rains it leaks, so I'm not really going to miss that," said Humanities teacher Ms. Malina, who also attended Hamilton as a student. "What I will miss are the memories that have consumed this room, but I guess you bring those memories with you."

What’s up, Yanks! My name is Melanie Torres and I am running to be your 2024 - 2025 ASB Vice President! I am a rising Humanities senior at Hamilton, and being in this program has been instrumental in the implementation of a vigorous work ethic and passionate motivation in my life that I plan to carry with me in my future. I have taken on many roles in my past two years as an ASB member. As a sophomore, I was the Co-Chair of Clubs, the Chair of Sports and Spirit, and Sophomore Class President. This year, I am Attorney General on the cabinet, overseer of Sports and Spirit, and the Junior Class President. Not only do I have the experience to ensure we will have a successful school year, but I am also extremely passionate about serving our community. To give a little bit of insight into my plans for next year, I would like to begin my work by improving ASB internally, as all of our plans stem from our classroom discussions. I highly value the representatives of our student body being active participants in our academic classes, team players on the field, and approachable members of our one Hami family. As for school events, I will encourage and assist in the organization of a variety of activities that interest our diverse population and that are easily accessible for the majority to participate in. Ultimately, my wish is for every student to vote in this election, whether it be for me or another candidate. With that being said, your support for me would be greatly appreciated and I will certainly not disappoint! Remember Yankees, Roll the Dice, Vote Mel for Vice!!!!!

My name is Mahlet Abelesom and I am running for Vice President of the 2025 ASB Class. I think the students should vote me for vice president because I have a lot of experience with ASB as I’ve been there since 2022. I want to help students feel heard, and I know I can do that as students come to me with their concerns about school changes already. I am currently co-chair of events and have been through challenges in the past with my peers not really liking certain choices made by ASB and have changed them. For next year's class of 2025, I bring my leadership skills and my communication skills with not only ASB but with our teachers and staff members.

Humanities freshman Chase Pollock describes his time so far at Hamilton as an enjoyable experience. "Something I have enjoyed so far about this school is the atmosphere and the multiple clubs offered at club rush," he says.

CAA freshman Trinity Truin describes her favorite thing about Hamilton as the connection between people. She says she appreciates "the friends I've made this year, especially the ones I knew but became closer to."

SAS freshman Lizette Alvarez Vera describes her time so far at Hamilton High as welcoming and helpful. "I like how this school gives multiple opportunities for students to explore their interests," she says.

AMPA freshman Daniela Avelar explains her time as interesting and enjoyable. "Something I enjoyed about last semester was the music, art and seeing the unique talents others have," she says.
