As Little Shop Of Horrors closes on Hamilton High School’s stage, the musical theater program moves right on ahead to the third annual Broadway night.

For those unfamiliar with Broadway Night, think of it as a collection of different solos and group numbers performed by students to show off the multitalented students in the program.
While audience members enjoy the show, they also get to bid on baskets filled with different goodies. Highlights from past Broadway Nights include a Bath and Body Works basket, a Starbucks cup and coffee basket, and even tickets to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. All proceeds go towards the musical theater program, helping them thrive.
Students had the opportunity to audition for the show on Wednesday and Thursday. With a range of songs they can choose from—nerves and excitement come to the forefront for many performers.
As the sun set over the bungalows, Mary Kate Colbertson, a freshman in AMPA, was one of those students: “I’m a little nervous, but everyone has been so nice.” Mary Kate was auditioning the song “I’m The One (Reprise)” from Next To Normal with AMPA senior Beatrix Davinson.
“It’s a great experience because every single audition you do is a great way to broaden your horizons,” Beatrix comments “And I’m really excited to work with a bunch of new people.”
Everyone is excited to get to work on a great show. Broadway Night will be held on January 30th, remember to get your tickets when it’s time!
